The quantity of hazardous waste disposed of in landfills decreased by approximately 10%. To clearly show the quantity of non-hazardous waste disposed in landfills, waste from mining operations and from inorganic chemical operations have been separated. Waste from inorganic chemical operations is stored in special on-site landfill areas. The rate of incineration with heat recovery was virtually unchanged.
