Rhodia buys the Quimica Dos Mix and Fix Center in Spain

Paris, December 28, 1999 -- Rhodia, through its Enterprise Rhodia Silicones, has acquired the Iberica Mix and Fix Center activity from Quimica Dos. Mix and Fix Centers compound and sell ready-mixed Heat Curing Silicone Elastomers (HCE). HCE’s are mainly used to manufacture cables and technical parts for industry and the automotive sector.

The formulation workshop and the sales team will be based at Rhodia Silicones’ existing Santa Perpetua site.

This acquisition provides enhanced commercial integration for Rhodia Silicones, one of the world’s leaders in silicones, on the HCE market in Spain and Portugal, enabling it to develop its know-how and formulation capacity in Europe.

Rhodia, one of the world’s leaders in speciality chemicals, contributes to improving the quality of life by developing products, solutions and services with high added value in the sectors of beauty, clothing, food, health, environmental, automotive and industry. Rhodia achieved a turnover of 5 537 billion Euros in 1998 and employs 23 500 people across the world. Rhodia has been listed on the Paris and New York stock exchange since June 25 1998.
