APPOINTMENTS
AT RHODIA
Paris,
December 27, 2000 – Rhodia recently appointed three new Presidents
within its Fine Organics Division. These appointments concern three Enterprises
dedicated to the Life Sciences market: Rhodia ChiRex, Pharmaceutical Ingredients
and Life Science Systems
- Marc-Antoine
Mallet has been appointed President of the Rhodia ChiRex Enterprise,
following Rhodia’s acquisition of the ChiRex company in September 2000.
He brings his new position the benefit of a dual expertise in manufacturing
and business administration acquired at an international level.
Rhodia’s
new wholly-owned subsidiary, the Rhodia ChiRex Inc. Enterprise
is a company which provides a comprehensive range of services to pharmaceutical
companies, such as Research & Development contracts, or the contract
manufacturing of active ingredients and advanced intermediates.
Marc-Antoine
Mallet (41), who holds a degree in engineering from the Paris Ecole
Centrale and a degree from the Paris Institut de Contrôle
de Gestion (Management Control Institute), started his career with
Rhône-Poulenc in 1983 where he held several positions of seniority
at an international level. He joined the Fine Organics division in 1999
as President of the Pharmaceutical Ingredients Enterprise.
- Antoine Baule
has been appointed President of the Pharmaceutical Ingredients Enterprise,
replacing Marc-Antoine Mallet who has been appointed President of Rhodia
ChiRex. He brings to this position his skills in strategy, marketing
and in the worldwide management of international customers.
The
Pharmaceutical Ingredients Enterprise commands front-ranking
positions worldwide for aspirin and calcium phosphate, and is the second
largest manufacturer of paracetamol. Its corporate mission is to produce
and sell analgesics, nutritional supplements and excipients for the
health market in general.
Prior
to his new appointment, Antoine Baule (45), a former ESSEC graduate,
had been working as Director of Strategy since July 1997 within the
Fine Organics divisions.
- Luc Auffret
has been appointed President of the Life Science Systems Enterprise
(L2S). With prior experience at the head of a large number of departments,
he brings the Enterprise his expertise in manufacturing and sales acquired
at an international level.
The
Life Science Systems Enterprise is active on the world market
for fine chemicals designed for pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and intermediates
for the performance products industry. It offers a comprehensive platform
of services ranging from development to large-scale production.
Luc
Auffret (52), a chemical engineer and graduate of the Centre
de Perfection Administration et Affaires (Center for Business and
Administrative Proficiency) joined Rhône-Poulenc in 1989 where
he was entrusted with a large number of strategic assignments. Prior
to this new appointment, he was President of Rhodia's Performance Fibers
Enterprise.
