Organization
The implementation of the REACH regulation within the Group involves three groups of stakeholders (some of whom have been actively involved for more than four years):
-
The Product Stewardship, Business, and Industrial teams based in the Enterprises
-
The Support Functions Shared Services teams (Purchasing, Communications, Finance, Legal Affairs, Research & Development, Information Systems and Responsible Care/HSE)
-
The team of toxicology, eco-toxicology and regulations expert in the Responsible Care Department
The first group assumes the Business and Industrial leadership of the project while the other two groups provide the necessary technical support.
Considering REACH to be a cross-functional management issue, the Group appointed a Project Manager in January 2008 responsible for working with the REACH correspondents in the Enterprises and Management Functions to coordinate action and to take advantage of innovation, development and communication opportunities created by the application of the program.
Operating in parallel with the reporting systems specific to the Enterprises, a REACH Board, comprised of the Enterprise Presidents and Directors of the Support Functions, provides regular oversight regarding the implementation of the REACH project within the Group in terms of processes, costs and resources.
