Asia Pacific Technical Center

The Regional Technical Center in Singapore, which was set up in 1992, provides an integral link with Rhodia's global R&D network and its customers in the Asia Pacific region.
Since 1999, the Technical Centre has benefitted from EDB’s Research Incentive Scheme for Companies (RISC) for the ongoing development and expansion of its R&D capabilities.
With the support of RISC grants, it has been transformed into one of the global R&D competence center for Rhodia comprising both local and foreign researchers.
The Center focuses on applications development and market innovation in consumer care and industrial applications including home & personal care, paint and coating, agrochemicals and industrial and metal treatment. It draws upon the global expertise and cross-fertilisation of its various core technologies, and, from Singapore's strategic location, it delivers "fast to market" tailor-made solutions to customers in this region.
Manpower sourcing and a stable workforce are critical to sustaining Rhodia's R&D operations. Fortunately, Singapore attracts R&D talent from many countries. Today, 45 percent of our R&D staff has a PhD. Our researchers are from many countries and we benefit from the cultural and technical diversity of our R&D team.
In addition, a processchemistry laboratory is responsible for process development and improvement projects, supporting Rhodia's manufacturing facilities in China, Japan, Thailand and India from Singapore's strategic location. The Center has also established research capability in Physical Chemistry in co-operation with SIMTech and ICES.
