Cellulose acetate tow is used mostly to manufacture cigarette filters, whereas flakes are used in the textile industry as speciality fabrics (veils, linings, silk yarns).

Diphenols are organic molecules resulting from the controlled oxidation of phenol. Rhodia’s products can be used as ingredients or synthesis intermediates for flavor or fragrances.

Polyamide 6.6 engineering plastics are used for their mechanical and thermal properties in high tech sectors.

Due to their unique properties, fluorinated molecules are key for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical and agrochemical ingredients and for electronic applications.

Phosphorus derivatives are used in numerous applications, from water treatment to agrochemical products and fire protection, oil field drilling, fine chemicals and plastic additives.

Thanks to its know-how and integration over the whole polyamide chain, Rhodia has a major competitive advantage in upstream intermediates and polymers.

Polyamide performance fibers have a multitude of uses, from providing comfort for furnishings, upholstery, automotive, carpet, textiles and sportswear, to extreme durability for protective gear, jet pilot’s clothing, industrial abrasives and electrical insulation.

High performance silica is mostly used in polymer reinforcement - in particular rubber and elastomers - or as "carriers" for powdered food stuffs.

Rare earths, mixed oxides & aluminas
Rare earths are natural elements present in large quantities in the earth’s crust.

Salicylic products are used as active ingredients in the pharmaceutical industry with aspirin, and in synthesis intermediates with salicylic acid and methyl salicylate.

Rhodia manufactures two main types of solvents, based on its polyamide technology: oxygenated solvents (acetone, acetic acid and its derivatives) and dibasic ester-based solvents, produced by diacid esterification with a number of alcohols.

Rhodia produces several types of polymers and monomers based on different technologies for which it has recognized expertise.

Sulfuric acid is one of the most widely used chemical products, applied in a large range of industrial applications.

Surfactants are used as performance additives in formulations in a large number of industries, such as personal and home care, and numerous industrial applications: metal treatment, industrial cleaning, petroleum extraction, agrochemicals, etc.

Textile yarns, industrial yarns, and fibers are used in many textile and industrial applications in which the performance and adaptation of solutions to meet specific requirements are factors critical to success.
