Cellulose acetate

Rhodia Acetow cellulose acetate
Cellulose acetate tow is used mostly to manufacture cigarette filters, whereas flakes are used in the textile industry as speciality fabrics (veils, linings, silk yarns).
Cellulose acetate flakes
Cellulose acetate flakes are derived from the chemical reaction of acetic anhydride with wood pulp. Acetate tow is derived from the physical transformation of cellulose acetate flakes, in which the cellulose acetate is dissolved in acetone, and then spun into tow.
