Rhodoline® FT100

Freeze-thaw stability agent for paint-based solutions
The best solution to achieve freeze-thaw* stabilityCustomer Challenge
Most waterborne paints are not able to withstand freezing and thawing cycles. The existing solutions on the market to stabilize the paint after freeze-thaw cycle are:
- Post addition of highly ethoxylathed non ionic surfactants: this solution is not very effective in low VOC paints and some properties deteriorate
- Complete control of the supply chain (warehouse, transportation), the most preferred but expensive choice
Features & Benefits
Rhodia has created Rhodoline® FT100 which provides excellent performances, particularly for paint-based on soft latexes, while reducing logistic hassles.
Rhodoline® FT100 enables stability after 5 freeze-thaw cycles and improves:
• Open time
• ASTM** scrub resistance
• Resistance to hydrophobic stains
• Gloss
Rhodoline® FT100 is a VOC free flowable liquid which is 90% active in water and APE free.
Applications
Freeze thaw stabilizer for paint-based soft latexes
* Paint remains liquid after freeze-unfreeze cycles
