Rhodia’s Research and Development (R&D) is supported by a global, diverse,flexible and open worldwide network, able to provide innovative solutions which create value and make us stand out from our competitors.

We provide our customers with the finest technical support, improve the performance of industrial processes to achieve operational excellence, and create and launch ground-breaking new products.

Our innovation projects aim to respond to customers’ needs by developing a new generation of products and industrial processes which are safer and cleaner. Safety, protection of the environment and best use of energy are key elements of these projects.

In 2011, 123 patents were filed by Rhodia.

Rhodia continuously reinforces its expertise in particular in the following areas:

•    Advanced materials science
•    Physical chemistry of materials fluids and surfaces
•    Organic chemistry
•    Chemical engineering and process intensification

Rhodia R&D teams comprise an active network of some 900 people based in our five R&D centers – in France (two), Brazil, the USA and China - and technical centers close to our plants and the our customers worldwide. To support its innovation programs, Rhodia is continually adding to its resource pool through an active external network of leading universities and industrial organizations, and by opening  joint laboratories with France’s National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
